PODCAST: Engaging a four-generation workforce

Adwoa Buahene of n-Gen People Performance consultancy shares critical success factors for engaging a four-generation workforce.

In this extract from an interview that was first aired as part of Melcrum's podcast series, Melcrum's Comms Canada 2007 keynote speaker, Buahene, summarizes the four generations that comprise a typical organization's workforce:

  1. Traditionalists (age 62 to 85).
  2. Baby Boomers (age 43 to 61).
  3. Generation X (age 27 to 42).
  4. Generation Y (age 16 to 26).

"Each of them have very distinct identities and behaviors that impact workplace performance" says Buahene. "You need to take their behavior and expectations into account if you truly want to engage your workforce." Hear Buahene's thoughts on how best to do this.
