Economic Times to award best workplaces in India

Study will honor the most employee-friendly organizations of 2008.

For the fifth year running the Economic Times Great Place to Work Institute will conduct a rigorous study of the best places to work in India for 2008.

Following several employee surveys and extensive research into organizational cultures the winning companies will be announced at an awards ceremony in Mumbai – India's financial hub – in mid 2008.

The study has a presence in 30 countries and is the oldest existing workplace study in the world.

Aside from overall great places to work, awards will also be given to companies who excel in sub-categories, such as large firms (of more than 10,000 employees), best workplace for working mothers, for Generation Y, for work-life balance and for building leaders.

Significant changes in labor market
The study, which has a presence in 30 countries and is the oldest existing workplace study in the world, perhaps reinforces the fact that this "BRIC" (Brazil, Russia, India, China) country's labor market has indeed undergone notable developments in the last decade, with the position of things like employee engagment and culture moving up higher on organizations' priority lists.

Have your say
What do you think makes a great place to work? Which companies would you vote for as being great places to work? Have the debate on the Internal Comms Hub members' group on Melcrum's Communicators' Network.
