Hub wins UK publishing industry commendation

Site recognized for creating "acccessible and easy-to-use" online environment.

The Internal Comms Hub has been "Highly Commended" in the "Best Electronic Subscription Product" category at the Specialized Information Publisher's Association (SIPA) UK chapter annual e-marketing and e-publishing conference in London this week.

The category judges said the Hub team, Katrina Andrews, Annie Waite, Claudia Whitcombe and James Brown, received the commendation "for delivering a well-designed, accessible and easy-to-use site".

The Hub team received the commendation 'for delivering a well-designed, accessible and easy-to-use site'.

Looking to the future
As well as receiving the commendation, Melcrum staff were also heavily involved in the SIPA conference's other events, with managing director Robin Crumby chairing a morning roundtable on B2B social media and an afternoon seminar on building specialist B2B communities.

The conference, which was attended by over 170 delegates from specialist subscription newsletter publishers and specialized-information publishers, focused mainly on the impact of Web 2.0 technology.

In particular, keynote speaker David Foster, the president of market intelligence firm, Business Valuation Resources, told delegates they have to "stop worrying and learn to love Google" if they want to succeed in the new online world.
