Synopsis scores "Best Consultancy" title

The Hub's strategy expert, Bill Quirke, picks up Communicators in Business awards.

At this year's Communicators in Business (CIB) Strategy awards held in London earlier this month, Synopsis Communication Consulting was awarded "best consultancy".

Synopsis also won an Award of Excellence for its merger and change communication work with pharmaceutical client Nycomed/Altana Pharma on its global integration. (Trialists and members of The Hub can read a case study about using podcasts to add personality at ALTANA Pharma)

Collaboration efforts secure support
The judges praised Synopsis' impressive and positive inventiveness, combined with practical action that showed a tangible return on investment.

"Guiding clients through some of the most difficult business changes is a real challenge, but nothing seems to faze this consultancy", said the CIB judges.

Managing director of Synopsis, and also The Hub's strategy and planning expert, Bill Quirke (pictured below in Figure 1), said "We were delighted to receive these awards, which reflect the pragmatic focus we bring to communication and the collaborative way we work with our clients."

New categories recognized: Storytelling and internal events
New CiB awards for 2007 were categories for internal events – recognizing the strategic importance and thinking behind the thousands of events which take place in organizations across the UK every year – and storytelling.

Recognizing the leading strategic thinkers in communication means technical competency is a given.

“Recognizing the leading strategic thinkers in communication means technical competency is a given, so judges are looking for the added value which communication delivers in enabling an organization to achieve its goals and objectives, as well as the coaching, counselling and support, which the communication function provides at the most senior level,” said awards chairman Dave Morris.

CiB also presented its Communicator of the Year award to Deanna Oppenheimer, CEO of Barclays Retail Banking. The Internal Communicator Of The Year award went to Juliet Ward, internal communications executive at insurance providers, NFU Mutual. The other winners are listed below.
